Confession: I’m obsessed with hand knit blankets! But I mean, can you blame me?! They’re so chunky and cozy, and they make the perfect gift…even if it’s just a gift to yourself lol! And the best part is that they are super easy to make – even if you have no knitting experience!
Months ago I made a tutorial on how to hand knit a chunky blanket, and to this day it is my most popular tutorial and YouTube video! BUT many of you have asked for more hand knitting tutorials, and tutorials showing different hand knitting patterns. So I’ve created a NEW hand knitting tutorial for all of you that shows you how to hand knit a rib stitch blanket. If you’ve never heard of a rib stitch, don’t worry. You don’t need to know any terms or anything before making this blanket – I promise! A rib stitch is just a pattern that uses two different types of stitches to create gorgeous vertical textured stripes.
Can you see the subtle stripes in that gorgeous hand knit blanket? Here’s a zoomed in picture below!
Those subtle stripes make a gorgeous blanket with a textured pattern that I know you’re going to love. The pictures don’t even do it justice!
Supplies:
- Bernat Big Blanket Yarn from Michaels – I used 4 skeins to make my blanket, and my blanket is 48″ x 60″
