The Easiest Wreath

Ok, I’m going to be honest. I’m not even sure you can call this a wreath, but either way it’s super cute and it’ll dress up your front door/porch area.

I made a really pretty wreath last fall, with the help of my mom (she’s an amazing wreath maker), but I didn’t feel like making a new wreath this spring/summer. Plus, all of the wreath supplies can really add up!

So I bought a hanging wicker basket, stuck some flowers in it, and hung it on the front door with a 3M hook. The rope on the basket wasn’t quite long enough, so I looped some ribbon through the rope of the basket, and then hung the ribbon on the 3M hook so that the basket would hang at the right spot.

Supplies:

  • basket – this is the one I used from Hobby Lobby. I also found a really cute alternative from Amazon that I would have bought instead if I had found it sooner! I love that it says “welcome” on it!
  • the flowers I used were from Michaels and are in store only
  • ribbon (if you need to extend the length of the basket to make it hang in the right spot)
  • 3M hook – use this 3M hook to hang on your front door. If you have glass on your door, or you’re hanging it on a storm door, use this 3M hook that is especially for glass.

The whole process – sticking the flowers in the basket, cutting the ribbon, and hanging the ribbon on the 3M hook took me less than 10 minutes – seriously! And it’s bright and colorful, and such a great addition to our front porch.

If you don’t want to make a new wreath each season, this is a great alternative for you. Just pull the flowers out when fall comes and add some new fallish (did I just make up that word? ha!) flowers – think cotton stems, wheat, muted hydrangeas, etc. Then when spring comes, stick the yellow (or whatever bright color you choose) flowers back in the basket! Adding some cute decor to your front porch, which helps your curb appeal, really couldn’t be much easier!

Never miss a post!
