Bring a little happy wherever you go with this super cute smiley face pony bead keychain! 😊🌟 It’s an easy, colorful DIY that’s perfect for adding a little personality to your backpack, purse, keys, or even a pencil pouch.
Supplies:
- pony beads
- pony bead lacing – I used the color “frost.” You will need one piece that is 36″ (3 feet) long.
- keychain
- gaff tape *optional* this is the tape I use to hold the keychain clips on to my table while make the keychains. This tape is very strong but does not leave behind sticky residue etc.

👉 Smiley Face Pattern (for the pattern I’m using yellow as the face color so that the pattern is easier to read, but obviously you can use any color you want!) – B = Black, Y = Yellow

- Row 2 – Y Y B Y B Y Y
- Row 3 – Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y
- Row 4 – Y Y B Y Y Y B Y Y
- Row 5 – Y Y B B B Y Y
- Row 6 – Y Y Y Y Y
- CLOSE IT OFF – overlap the pony bead lacing at the bottom and cut the lacing. Use about 1/2″ of connector piece to attach the two pieces together (you can watch this process in the YouTube video below).
