Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows

This is such a quick and easy treat, and by quick and easy I mean less than 20 minutes from start to finish! Hallelujah! If you have little ones, this is a great activity for them to help with. Our 4-year-old helped me the entire time, and halfway through she screamed, “this is the best day ever!” She wasn’t lying – it’s hard to have a bad day when you’re dipping giant marshmallows in melted chocolate and decorating them with sprinkles. And of course you have to sample the finished product to make sure they are tasty enough, and sampling sweets has never made anyone sad.

Ingredients:

• jumbo marshmallows – if you can’t find the jumbo ones just use the large ones
• melting chocolate – I’ve used, and recommend, both of the kinds below
  • Candy wafers – Hobby Lobby
  • Candy melts – Michaels
• sprinkles – the sprinkles I used are from Walmart, and they aren’t available online, but I’ll link some other fun spring sprinkle options below.
  • Wilton Mini Egg Sprinkles – Amazon
  • Marbled Egg Sprinkles – Amazon
  • Wilton Easter Sprinkles – Amazon
  • Wilton Spring Mix – Target
• baking sheet and wax paper

Directions:

1. cover a baking sheet with wax paper
2. melt the candy wafers, and stir until the chocolate is smooth
3. dip the marshmallows halfway into the bowl of melted chocolate
4. hold the chocolate dipped marshmallows over a bowl while sprinkling the sprinkles over the marshmallows
5. set the marshmallows, chocolate side up, on the wax covered baking sheet
6. once you have finished dipping/decorating all of the marshmallows, set the baking sheet in the fridge so that the chocolate will harden faster
7. after the chocolate has hardened, store the marshmallows in an airtight container to keep them fresh

These make an adorable little gift for friends, neighbors, and teachers, and they also make super fun party favors for your child’s birthday party.

When gifting these goodies, I like to drop one marshmallow in a little cellophane bag, and tie it with some cute ribbon. Instant cute yumminess!
