How to Make Macrame Flower Keychains

These Macrame Flower Keychains make the cutest party favors and gifts, and once you get the pattern down you can whip one up in less than 10 minutes. This is a beginner level macrame project, meaning you do NOT need any macrame experience to do this craft. However, if you have never done anything like macrame before it might seem a little bit tedious and overwhelming at first, but just hang with me – I promise you can do it! I will go through the whole process step by step so that you can follow along easily.

Supplies:

  • 3mm macrame cord (this comes in tons of different colors) – you’ll need a 72″ piece for the petal color, a 48″ piece for the braid color, and a 36″ piece for the center of the flower color.
  • keychain/lobster claw hook (this is the one I used in the video, but you can find tons of options on Amazon or at your local craft store)
  • tape – I used this gaff tape to tape the keyring to my table. The gaff tape is incredibly strong and doesn’t hurt surfaces, but you can use any type of tape.
