If you’ve been following my blog for a while you know that I love mason jars, and I won’t apologize for it lol. There’s just something about mason jars that I find completely adorable! So…here I am with yet another mason jar craft. Sorry, not sorry. 🙂
These snowy mason jars are even cuter in person, AND they look SO pretty with a little fake tea light candle flickering in them! And the best part is that these aren’t overly Christmasy, so they’ll be perfect to have out all winter long!
Supplies:
- mason jars – I used the pint size (regular mouth not wide mouth) and some little 3×3″ jars. You can buy a bulk package like I bought here from Michaels, or here from Amazon.
- epsom salt – you can find a big bag at Walmart
- mod podge – click here to get some from Michaels, or here to get it from Amazon.
- sponge paint brush – here is a great set from Amazon!
- glitter – here is the glitter I used from Michaels, and here is an option from Amazon.
- twine – click here to shop Michaels twine, or click here to shop twine on Amazon
- berries/greenery – the ones I used are sold out online, but click here for another great option!

Instructions:
1. Pour some epsom salt into a bowl, and add some glitter until the “snow” is sparkly enough for your liking.
2. Paint some mod podge on the mason jar.
3. Sprinkle the “snow” mixture over the mason jar while the mod podge is still wet.
4. Let the mod podge dry.
5. Tie some twine around the mouth of the mason jar.
6. Stick some greenery and berries under the twine to hold them in place. If the twine won’t hold them in place, you can use a couple dots of hot glue.
Now you can set your mason jars around your house, and admire your handiwork! I have several on my mantle, and when it gets dark at night (which seems to be around 4pm these days lol), I turn on the little fake flickering tea lights. They make the room even cozier!
The picture below gives you a little preview of how pretty they can look in the dark, with the tea light candles flickering – but this picture doesn’t really do it justice. You just have to see them in person – which means you’re going to have to make some for yourself. 🙂
